The coupling of small steam turbine can be divided into rigid coupling, semi-flexible coupling and flexible coupling.
1. Rigid coupling: advantages are simple structure, small size, low cost, no need for lubricating oil.
2. Semi-flexible coupling: the advantage is that it can properly compensate the shortcomings of the rigid backrest wheel, and the school center is slightly lower.
3. Flexible coupling: the advantage is that the rotor oscillation and thermal expansion do not transfer to each other, allowing two turbine rotor center line slightly deviation. In general, rigid coupling is used between high and low pressure rotors of large units, and semi-flexible coupling is used between low pressure rotors and generator rotors.
