With storage 200MW! rPlus Energies and Pacificorp sign power purchase agreement for solar+storage project

According to foreign media reports, renewable energy developer rPlus Energies has signed a long-term power purchase agreement (PPA), the company plans to operate a 400MW solar power generation facility in Emory County, Utah.

rPlus Energies said it has signed the agreement with US utility PacifiCorp, which will support the deployment of a 200MW battery storage system. The project is currently the largest planned solar-plus-storage project in Utah.

PacifiCorp submitted a bid to deploy a 1.8GW solar farm and 600MW battery storage system to expand its renewable energy capacity, and was shortlisted and won through a bidding process.

rPlus Energies expects to begin construction on the project in early 2023, with EPC service provider Sundt Construction providing engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) services for the solar-plus-storage project.

rPlus Energies recently achieved commercial operation of the first 104MW solar farm in Utah and started construction on a 200MW solar project in Iron County earlier this year.

rPlus Energies also has a long-term agreement with PacifiCorp to procure power from these two projects, bringing rPlus Energies' signed renewable energy capacity to more than 1.2GW.
