
A few days ago, according to the Asia-Europe Clean Energy Consulting Company (AECEA), the total annual capacity of solar cells and modules in China will increase from 361GW at the end of last year to 600GW by the end of 2022.
"Since January, 20 companies have disclosed that they will expand module production, with a total capacity of 380GW, which is planned to be completed in the next few months or 1.5 years," AECEA said. So far this year, the output of polysilicon, wafers, cells and modules has exceeded 50% of China's PV industry in 2021. "As of June, the top 10 manufacturers shipped over 100GW of modules, and by the end of September, could reach 140-150GW (133 GW in 2021)," AECEA said.
AECEA also revealed that the country's polysilicon production capacity should grow from about 530,000 metric tons at the end of 2021 to 1.2 million metric tons in 2022, jumping to 2.5 million metric tons in 2023 and 4 million metric tons in 2024.
